Billinformed ("we," "us," or "this site") operates billinformed.com. This page explains what information we collect from visitors and subscribers, how it's used, and how you can control it.

Information We Collect

Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to receive posts by email, we collect the email address you provide. That's it — we don't require a name, and we don't ask for any other personal details to subscribe.

Site usage data. Like most websites, billinformed.com collects basic technical information automatically when you visit — things like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you viewed. This is standard analytics data used to understand traffic patterns; it isn't linked to your identity unless you're also a subscriber.

Comments (if applicable). If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, the name and email you provide with that comment are stored along with the comment itself.

How We Use Your Information

  • To send you new posts by email, if you've subscribed
  • To understand overall site traffic and readership trends
  • To respond if you contact us directly

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not run third-party advertising on this site.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of service providers to run this site, and your data may pass through them as a normal part of that:

  • Ghost — the publishing platform that runs this site
  • Mailgun — the email delivery service used to send newsletter emails to subscribers
  • PikaPods — our hosting provider

Each of these providers processes data only as needed to perform their function (hosting the site, sending emails) and has its own privacy practices governing that processing.

Your Rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. If you'd like your subscriber data deleted entirely, or have any other question about your data, contact us at the email below.

Cookies

This site may use minimal cookies necessary for basic functionality (such as remembering that you've dismissed a banner). We don't use cookies for cross-site ad tracking.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
